The Vail Public Safety Communications Center will be testing a new Wireless Emergency Alert system on Wednesday, May 2 at 12:30 p.m. The test is intended to be seen on smart phones between East Vail and West Vail, but might reach phones outside of the targeted test area. Therefore, Cordillera property owners will receive the test alert if they are in or travel into Vail during the test.
Please provide feedback after the alert at ec-e.org to help us know where the test reached and to be entered to win a prize. Also on May 2, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., residents of West Vail may hear test messages over a speaker system. For more details, visit ecemergency.org.
WEAs will be used in conjunction with the ECAlert and all other methods of communication when an emergency exists throughout Eagle County.
