Weight Restrictions to be Lifted

Due to the unseasonably warm temperatures and based on the current forecast, the weight restrictions for the Ranch and Divide neighborhoods will be lifted May 27 and April 5 for the Summit nieghborhood.

When the average daily temperatures increase, the ground beneath the roads begins to thaw and become unstable. The weight of large trucks and equipment can damage the asphalt, so Cordillera imposes weight restrictions on Metro District roads that limit trucks to 12,000 pounds per axle during the freeze/thaw cycle in late winter and early spring.

When the restriction is in effect, no over-weight (12,000+ per axle) vehicle are allowed in the community, with the exception of fire trucks, Metro District trucks and residential trash trucks.

Property owners or contractors with questions are encouraged to contact Joanne Kelley at 970-569-6251.
