Hunting Access

HUNTING ACCESS TO PUBLIC LAND POLICY:

Property owners and immediate family members may access public lands through Cordillera open space. There are only three access points to public lands within Cordillera boundaries (see map below). Public lands may not accessed through private property without previous written permission from the owner.

Property owners and immediate family members may bring guests.

Property owners are not required to register with public safety prior to the season they will be hunting; however they are asked to register because it greatly helps public safety to monitor hunting activity. Last year we had 100% cooperation from our hunting owners.

Non-property owners must register with public safety prior to hunting. They must have permission from a property owner to be considered their guest. They must provide public safety with the owner’s name and contact information. We will confirm all guest status with the owner.

Any guests hunting without an owner may only access public land through the Gore Trail trail head unless otherwise specified prior to hunting. Guests of property owners may not bring guests.

There is no access to public land for hunting on the Ranch or the Divide.

All owners and guests must abide by all Colorado hunting regulations.

Contact Bill Wentworth at 970-306-3632 or bwentworth@cordillerametro.org with questions.
