News from the River

Fish update

Beat update:

As of Monday, March 20 Cordillera beats are assigned for morning and afternoon reservations.  New passes are now available.

Morning Beats: Dawn to 1 p.m.

Afternoon Beats: 2 p.m. to dark

As a reminder, anglers are required to book reservations in advance for river fishing by calling FFO at 970-476-FISH (3474) or 970-845-8090. Reservations may be booked up to 10 days in advance by property owners. Beat fishing for property owners and their family members (who have completed the orientation) is free. Prior to departure for a river outing, property owners can pick up passes, sign releases and find out what flies are working at Fly Fishing Outfitter's located in Avon, Colorado.

There is a one-time, fee-based orientation class required for river fly fishing to learn safety, rules and regulations as well as proper fish-handling techniques.

The Cordillera ponds do not require a reservation and remain open daily as long as the water is without ice.
