As part of an effort to slow traffic on Fenno Drive, a temporary roundabout will be installed in the coming weeks. The asphalt roundabout will be installed at the intersection of Club Cottage Drive and Fenno Drive. The roundabout is intended to compel drivers to go slower in this high-traffic area.
Additionally, speed bumps will be installed the week of May 15 on Fenno Drive near the Trailhead and on Cordillera Way.
A Traffic Calming Study conducted by McDowell Engineering in 2016 examined existing road conditions, traffic volumes, speeds, accident data and sight distances. Most of the Cordillera Metro District roadways observed relatively high frequency of speeding vehicles with Cordillera Way and Fenno Drive being specifically identified.
As a reminder, the speed limit on Fenno is 25 m.p.h. and 30 m.p.h. on Cordillera Way. Residents are kindly reminded that slow speeds should be maintained throughout the community as children, bicyclists, wildlife, horses and other automobiles share the roads.
