Governance

The Cordillera community has two governing bodies—The Cordillera Metro District and the Cordillera Property Owners Association, each with different roles and responsibilities.

The Cordillera Metro District (CMD) is a quasi-municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Colorado, with administrative offices located at 408 Carterville Road. The CMD is supported by tax revenues, and provides road and utility maintenance, public safety, open space management, and other support services.

The Cordillera Property Owners Association (CPOA) is a private homeowners association with offices located inside the Cordillera Post Office building at 360 Carterville Road.  The CPOA is supported by annual assessments, manages and operates property owner amenities, and provides recreational programing, architectural design review, social events, and other homeowner services.
