Trash and Recycling
The Cordillera Property Owners Association (CPOA) provides residential trash and recycling services to Cordillera property owners.
This program is not intended for contractors or construction debris.
Save our Bears! Please use appropriate trash containers and follow all trash rules. Cordillera’s service provider is Vail Honeywagon, who can be reached at (970) 476-3511 or www.vailhoneywagon.com.

Trash Pickup Schedule
Every Tuesday (except when a holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday, trash will be picked up on Wednesday)
Recycling Pickup Schedule
Every other week (on same weekday as trash)
Container Times
7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the day of pickup
If additional pickups are required, please call Vail Honeywagon at (970) 476-3511 to arrange pickup. You will need to set up a personal account with them to be billed privately.
Homeowners are responsible for the removal and disposal of yard debris and yard waste generated from the homeowner’s property.
Trash & Recycling Containers
Cordillera property owners each receive one 90-gallon bear-resistant trash container and one recycling container. Cordillera Property Owners are required to use bear-resistant containers when their trash and garbage are at the street. When trash containers are at the street, the lids must be completely closed, and the latches secured.

Containers
Trash containers may be at the curb between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the day of pickup. Trash containers may not be left out overnight (day prior or day of). Trash containers left out past authorized hours will be tagged. Property owners who leave trash containers out repeatedly will be fined. Recycling containers are not required to be bear resistant. Additional trash outside of the one container is subject to additional charges. Examples include lawn debris, bags of trash, appliances, construction material, carpet, etc.
Acceptable Trash and Recycling Items
Trash: Non-hazardous residential solid waste (e.g., household trash).
Recycling: All glass beverage containers (all colors); aluminum, steel, and tin cans; rinsed and empty plastic containers (#1 through #7); cleaned and flattened corrugated cardboard boxes (corrugated means it has an undulating layer between two flat layers); office paper (not shredded); magazines and newspapers. Please remove recycling items from plastic bags. Plastic bags are not recyclable when holding other recycling materials. Plastic bags contaminate the whole dumpster, thus rendering the whole dumpster trash.

Cordillera Trash & Recycling Center
Trash and Recycling dumpsters are located on Carterville Road past the CMD Admin building. A homeowner gate access sticker is required for access. Dumpsters are for homeowners only and NEVER for construction debris. If a dumpster is full, items cannot be left outside for safety reasons. Please contact the Cordillera Property Owner Association office at (970) 688-8850 if the dumpster is full.
Homeowners may call Public Safety at: (970) 926-2335 for assistance with gate access.
Unacceptable Items for Trash & Recycling Center
Trash: No hazardous waste including paints, motor oil, antifreeze, fertilizers, fuels, household cleaners, pesticides, pool chemicals, solvents, and thinners; batteries; fluorescent light bulbs; refrigerator and freezers; e-waste, televisions, computers, and printers; prescription drugs; tires and yard waste.
Recycling: No plastic bags or materials in plastic bags; plastic utensils; needles or syringes; ceramics or Pyrex; Styrofoam; hazardous materials; napkins or paper towels; box board (cereal boxes); shredded paper; mirrors; light bulbs; dishes; six pack holders; #7 PLA plastics.

*Unacceptable trash and recycling items can be taken to the Eagle County Solid Waste & Recycling facility (the dump) located in Wolcott.
