Short Course

Short Course

The Short Course on the Divide at Cordillera is an executive 9-hole course designed to improve your short game. Created by Dave Pelz, the legendary short game instructor, it is only one of two signature Pelz courses in the world. As Pelz famously said, “the more greens you miss, the more you need a great short game!” Come enjoy the challenge, and lower your handicap!

“A Delightful Par 3 Gem! Nestled in the foothills between the Cordillera Mountain and Valley courses, this beautifully maintained Par 3 course wanders between stately homes, testing your short game shots with elevation changes, carries over water, and very challenging greens not normally seen on a Par 3 course.   Near the end of the round, Hole #8 first presents the golfer with an uphill shot to an “infinity horizon” green, and then rewards you with a stunning view of Edwards and Beaver Creek valley.  And if you didn’t settle your match with your foursome, there’s always the 10th hole waiting for that final Closest to the Pin competition.” – CGA Course Rating Team

Closed Wednesdays for Maintenance

The Short Course is a private amenity owned by the CPOA open to Cordillera Property Owners (Divide, Ranch, Summit & Territories) and accompanied guests. The operations and maintenance are managed by the Cordillera Property Owners Association.

Club at Cordillera members who are non-Cordillera Property Owners as well as Cordillera Valley Club residents are welcome to play the Short Course. Their family and non-family guests are also welcome to play, but must be accompanied by the Club at Cordillera Member or the Cordillera Valley Club resident.

It is a 9-hole, par 3 course located in the Divide, with fabulous views east to the Vail Valley. A Dave Pelz Signature design, one of two in the world, the course was created to improve your short game. Each hole is less than 200 yards, and features challenging shots and tight bunkering.

There is also a short game practice area to hone pitching, chipping and putting skills. It is sophisticated enough for serious players looking to lower their handicap, while providing a fun, relaxed golf experience for families and golfers of every ability level.
